Information

This festival of football kicks off on the 11th June 2010 with the final on the 11th July and will be the largest sporting event ever held on the continent of Africa. The tournament will start and end in the fantastic 95,000 seater Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg. With group and knockout games being held at 10 city venues throughout this vast country from Nelspruit in the North and the gateway to Kruger Park to Cape Town on the southernmost tip of Africa.

With England having already qualified fans will be keen to get booked up to travel to the tournament.

The draw for the final will take place in Cape Town on the 4th December with the 32 qualifying teams potentially being drawn to play in 3 different host cities.

Firstly we have noted that there has been a lot of talk about staying in Cape Town for the duration of the Group Stage, we would advise a slight note of caution. The group stage of the tournament has a total of 48 matches with 32 teams. Only 5 of these matches are in Cape Town involving 10 different countries. Therefore two thirds of the teams involved in the first phase will not play in Cape Town and of the remaining teams no team will play more than one group game there. It is therefore possible that having arrived in Cape Town you would have to travel long distances and take internal flights to all three group games . Also the weather in Cape Town in June is not that good and it would therefore seem pointless to spend all of your time if Cape Town especially if England does not end up playing there. A better base may be Durban South Africa's 3rd city and resort playground which is much further North than Cape Town and located on the much warmer Indian Ocean and therefore enjoys a lot better weather in their winter months.

We realise that everyone wants to make the most of their time in South Africa and we would stress that ALL of our packages are flexible - if there is something you want that isn't here then please contact our office and speak to our experienced sales staff and they will tailor something for you. However please note that we do not supply any match tickets.

We have prepared itineraries for people wanting to visit Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania and enjoy safaris, luxury hotel stays, driving tours, shark cage diving, dune buggying - you name it!

Tailor made doesnt have to mean expensive but it can help you make the most of your visit to the South Africa 2010 World Cup!
